Kihon is translated into basic or basic techniques, and is the foundation of all Karate learning. All students begins to learn the basic blocks, punches, strikes, kick, and stancs. Over time, these movements practiced several times a day so that they becomes natural to perform. Kihon is taken very seriously and is taught very consistent in the dojo to ensure that the correct technique is taught from the beginning. Poor form in Kihon leads to inefficient technique and damages, so there is much attention to the performance of the various kihon techniques. Kihon appears also through kata and eventually becomes more advanced.
